The Official Hospitality & Meeting Hub of GastroErasmus 2027
During GastroErasmus 2027 – 4th International Culinary Competition, The Raga Side Hotel will become one of the main meeting points for young culinary talents, vocational teachers, professional chefs, international jury members and participating institutions from across Europe.
The hotel will be more than an accommodation venue. Throughout GastroErasmus 2027, it will provide an international environment where participants can stay together, meet professionals, exchange experiences, attend workshops and panels, and build connections beyond the competition kitchen.
From the Opening & Welcome Ceremony on 24 March to professional workshops for teachers and evening Student & Jury Panels, The Raga Side Hotel will form an important part of the complete GastroErasmus experience.
Official All-Inclusive Accommodation
The Raga Side Hotel will provide official All-Inclusive accommodation for GastroErasmus 2027 participants during the event period.
The accommodation concept will include hotel stay, breakfast, lunch and dinner, together with food and beverage services offered within the hotel’s All-Inclusive concept.
Bringing international delegations together in the same hotel will also create an important social dimension. Students, teachers and jury members will have opportunities to communicate outside the formal competition programme, exchange cultures and establish new international friendships and professional connections.
A Safe Environment for Young Participants
GastroErasmus brings together young culinary students from different countries, including participants under the age of 18. For this reason, student safety and responsible hospitality will be an important part of the accommodation organisation.
All participants under the age of 18 will receive a clearly identifiable non-alcohol wristband at check-in. Alcoholic beverages will not be served to participants wearing this wristband.
The hotel management, GastroErasmus Organising Committee, teachers and group leaders will work together to maintain a safe, organised and youth-friendly environment throughout the programme.
Teachers and group leaders will remain responsible for the supervision of the students in their respective delegations.
24 March 2027 | Opening & Welcome Ceremony
The official GastroErasmus 2027 Opening & Welcome Ceremony will take place on the evening of 24 March 2027 (after dinner) at The Raga Side Hotel.
Following the arrival and check-in of international delegations, students, teachers, jury members and invited guests will come together for the first official gathering of GastroErasmus 2027.
Participating countries and schools will be welcomed and introduced, providing the first opportunity for delegations from across Europe to meet one another before the competition begins.
The Organising Committee will also present the overall programme, competition schedule, organisational procedures and important information for the following competition days.
Competition & Technical Briefing
An important part of the evening programme on 24 March will be the official competition and technical briefing.
Competitors, teachers and team leaders will receive detailed information about competition procedures, schedules, competition stations, preparation areas, hygiene and safety requirements, judging procedures and other operational matters.
This briefing will ensure that all participating teams understand the competition procedures before entering the competition area.
With registration, orientation and technical briefings completed on 24 March, competitors will be ready to begin the competition programme the following morning.
25 March 2027 | The Competition Begins
The culinary competition will officially begin on the morning of 25 March 2027.
The first competition category will be JP1 – Individual Main Course, opening four days of culinary competition, professional exchange and international cooperation.
The competition programme will continue with:
25 March: JP1 – Individual Main Course
26 March: JP2 – Individual Fish & JP3 – Individual Pasta
27 March: JP4 – Individual Dessert & SP2 – ERA Alliance Black Box Challenge
28 March: SP1 – Best School Team & Official Award Ceremony
The SP2 – ERA Alliance Black Box Challenge will be exclusively available to participating ERA Alliance member institutions.
Meet the International Jury
One of the most valuable elements of GastroErasmus is the opportunity for young people and vocational teachers to interact directly with professional chefs and international jury members.
The Raga Side Hotel will provide an environment where this interaction can continue beyond the formal judging process.
International jury members will not only evaluate competitors. Through workshops, professional discussions and evening panels, they will also share their knowledge, professional experiences and perspectives with students and teachers.
This interaction is designed to make GastroErasmus an educational experience as well as an international competition.
Professional Workshops for Teachers
Special professional workshops and exchange sessions will be organised for participating teachers at The Raga Side Hotel.
International jury members, professional chefs and vocational teachers from different countries will come together to discuss topics related to culinary education and the professional gastronomy sector.
The sessions may address culinary teaching practices, professional kitchen standards, assessment approaches, emerging industry expectations, new culinary trends and the skills young professionals need to succeed in modern hospitality and gastronomy.
Teachers will also have an opportunity to exchange educational practices with colleagues from other countries and compare different approaches to vocational culinary education.
Evening Student & Jury Panels
Selected evenings will feature interactive Student & Jury Panels, bringing young competitors face-to-face with international jury members and professional chefs in a more informal environment.
Students will be encouraged to participate actively, ask questions and discuss subjects such as professional culinary careers, working in international kitchens, creativity, competition experience, teamwork, career development and opportunities in the international hospitality industry.
These sessions will allow students to hear directly from experienced professionals and gain insights that extend beyond what can be learned in a classroom or during a competition.
The objective is simple: the learning should continue after the competition kitchen closes.
International Teacher Networking
GastroErasmus also creates an international meeting environment for vocational teachers and school representatives.
Teachers staying at The Raga Side Hotel will have opportunities to meet colleagues from different European countries and discuss possible future cooperation.
These conversations may lead to Erasmus+ student mobilities, international internships, job-shadowing activities, teacher exchanges, reciprocal school visits and new European projects.
Informal conversations that begin during GastroErasmus can therefore become the starting point for long-term institutional partnerships.
Connecting Education with the Hospitality Industry
The Raga Side Hotel experience will also demonstrate the close relationship between vocational education and the hospitality industry.
International students and teachers will experience a professional tourism environment while participating in an international vocational education event. This provides an opportunity to connect what students learn at school with the expectations and realities of the hospitality sector.
The interaction between schools, professional chefs, jury members and hospitality professionals will support one of the central objectives of GastroErasmus: bringing vocational education and industry closer together.
Learning Beyond the Competition
GastroErasmus is built on the principle that an international culinary competition should offer much more than medals and rankings.
Students will compete during the day and have opportunities to interact with international professionals outside the competition. Teachers will accompany their teams while participating in professional workshops and networking with colleagues from other countries. Jury members will contribute not only as evaluators but also as professionals sharing their experience with the next generation.
By combining these elements, GastroErasmus aims to turn every stage of the event into an opportunity for learning, professional development and international exchange.
More Than a Hotel. An International Meeting Point.
During GastroErasmus 2027, The Raga Side Hotel will bring accommodation, international networking, professional development and social interaction together in one environment.
Young chefs will meet other young chefs.
Teachers will meet potential European partners.
Students will meet international professionals.
Jury members will share their knowledge with the next generation.
Schools from different countries will have the opportunity to turn a four-day competition into partnerships that may continue for years.
This is the experience GastroErasmus aims to create.
Stay together. Learn together. Compete together. Connect beyond borders.
